Al Jazeera

Are we closer to a Gaza international peace force? How Israel is using'no war, no peace' model in Gaza How is Israel using PR firms to frame its war? At least two people including a child have been killed in an Israeli drone strike east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to Al Jazeera reporters in the besieged Palestinian territory. Hamas condemned Israel's "daily and continuous violations" since a truce came into effect last month, accusing it of maintaining a campaign of bombardments and demolitions across the besieged enclave. The Israeli military said the Palestinians killed on Monday posed "an immediate threat" to its forces. Israeli forces have also been systematically destroying homes inside the so-called "yellow line", a temporary withdrawal boundary agreed in the ceasefire.

Al Jazeera

Can Israel survive economic isolation? The activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla remain alert. Wednesday's drone attack on the vessels - heading towards Gaza to break Israel's siege on the Palestinian enclave - is not expected to be the last. As the flotilla, currently travelling in Greek territorial waters, nears Gaza, a larger Israeli attack is expected. Acar is experienced in spotting drones and assessing security risks, having previous experience trying to reach Gaza on June's Madleen flotilla, which Israel intercepted.

Israel kills 30 in Gaza attacks, using 'drone missiles packed with nails'

Al Jazeera

At least 30 Palestinians have been killed since dawn across Gaza in Israeli attacks, medical sources have told Al Jazeera, as the besieged and bombarded enclave's decimated health system, overwhelmed by a daily flow of wounded, is forcing doctors to make decisions on who to treat first. In the latest killings on Friday, three people died in an Israeli attack on the Tuffah neighbourhood of eastern Gaza City. Five people were also killed in an Israeli air attack in Jabalia an-Nazla, in northern Gaza. Earlier, an Israeli attack hit tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in al-Mawasi, southern Gaza – previously designated a so-called "safe zone" – igniting a major fire and killing at least five people, including infants. Al-Mawasi has come under repeated, deadly Israeli fire.

US envoy hails Lebanon's response to Hezbollah disarmament proposals

Al Jazeera

A senior United States envoy has praised the Lebanese government's response to a US proposal aimed at disarming Hezbollah amid Israel's continued military presence in the country. Thomas Barrack, an adviser to US President Donald Trump who serves as Washington's ambassador to Turkiye and special envoy for Syria, returned to Beirut on Monday after delivering the US proposal during a June 19 visit. The plan called for the Shia Lebanese group Hezbollah to fully disarm within four months in exchange for a halt to Israeli air strikes and the full withdrawal of Israel's military from the five positions it continues to occupy in southern Lebanon. "What the government gave us was something spectacular in a very short period of time," Barrack told reporters on Monday after meeting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. "I'm unbelievably satisfied with the response." While Barrack confirmed that he had received a seven-page reply from the Lebanese side, he offered no details on its contents.

Israeli drone attacks in southern Lebanon kill one, injure several people

Al Jazeera

Israel has carried out four drone attacks on towns in southern Lebanon, resulting in a death and several injured, in the latest wave of near-daily Israeli violations of the November ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah. An "Israeli enemy drone attack on a vehicle" in the Saf al-Hawa area in the city of Bint Jbeil "killed one person and wounded two others", Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said in a statement on Saturday carried by the official National News Agency (NNA), noting the toll was expected to rise. A second attack in the Bint Jbeil area followed. Earlier Saturday, the ministry also reported that a separate Israeli drone attack wounded one person in Shebaa, with the NNA saying that raid hit a house. Shebaa is located across two steep, rocky mountainsides that straddle Lebanon's borders with Syria and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon kill three people

Al Jazeera

Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon on multiple vehicles have killed three people as attacks continue despite a November ceasefire with the armed group Hezbollah. Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said on Saturday that one person was killed in an "Israeli enemy" drone strike on a car in the village of Kunin while two others were killed after an Israeli strike on a motorcycle in Mahrouna, near Tyre. The Israeli army claimed that the attack on the car "eliminated the terrorist Hassan Muhammad Hammoudi", who it said was responsible for antitank missile attacks on Israeli territory during the recent war. The latest Israeli attacks came a day after Israel killed a woman and wounded 25 people in attacks across southern Lebanon. Lebanon's National News Agency reported that the woman was killed in an Israeli drone strike on an apartment in the city of Nabatieh.

Mapping Israel's expanding battlefronts across the Middle East

Al Jazeera

A fragile ceasefire remains in place between Israel and Iran, one day after US President Donald Trump announced a truce, ending 12 days of fighting that erupted following Israeli strikes on Tehran's nuclear and military sites. An analysis of data from the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED) shows that between October 7, 2023, and just before Israel attacked Iran on June 13, 2025, Israel carried out nearly 35,000 recorded attacks across five countries: the occupied Palestinian territory, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran. These attacks include air and drone strikes, shelling and missile attacks, remote explosives, and property destruction. The majority of attacks have been on Palestinian territory with at least 18,235 recorded incidents, followed by Lebanon (15,520), Syria (616), Iran (58) and Yemen (39). While the bulk of Israel's attacks have concentrated on nearby Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and Lebanon, its military operations have also reached far beyond its immediate borders.
